As a storm rolled ashore about ten miles south of Saugatuck, I took in a sunset at the State Park with about a dozen other people. It was also raining at the Holland Light, just a few miles to the north. Shortly after the sun dipped below the horizon, a breeze dropped the air temperature about ten degrees. I took heed of the warning and started the march back to the car, which meant I missed my favorite time, but also meant I avoided pea-sized hail.

DisneyWorld May 2013: Day 1
Getting there
Our kids are seasoned flyers. Aly, newly seven, was on her 10th trip to Disney, along with a trip to St Augustine, two trips to Colorado, three trips to Maine, once to Tennessee, once to DC, and once to California. So Aly had flown on at least 18 round-trip vacations prior to this trip, without incident. Leah, at two and a half, was making her third trip to WDW, along with two trips to Maine. So Leah had flown on at least four round-trip vacations prior to this trip, without incident.
Aly’s 7th Super Mario Birthday Party
Aly turned 7 nearly two months ago and I’ve been completely negligent about getting these pictures up, so they’re going to get posted without a lot of commentary. She chose Super Mario as the theme for her party, so we came up with a bunch of games based on Mario things, made some props, hit the dollar store for some prizes, and generally had a great time. The kids took advantage of the wide open space and we needed all the adult helpers, including the surprise appearance of Auntie Lizzy!
