Having arrived in Gatlinburg after midnight, and having short nights the previous two nights preparing for Aly’s birthday weekend, I decided not to set the alarm so I could catch up on some sleep before heading out to hike for the day.
The nice weather over the last two weeks gave us a chance to set up the trampoline and play outside in the backyard. That causes a bit of chaos with the girls’ hair.
On a warm April weekend, a large group of extended family gathered in Chagrin Falls, Ohio to help prepare my grandparents’ home for sale as they recently moved to a retirement community. My parents’ generation had done an extensive amount of preparation prior to our convergence, which made the process run very smoothly. We met early on Saturday morning, with roughly 30 family members total.
