I’ve been seeking simplicity, and after reading a few Zak Arias posts about the Fuji X100T, I decided that I’d sell some of the camera gear I mostly wasn’t using and order myself a new camera, with the possibility that it could replace some or all of my DSLR gear. I sold my backup camera (Rebel T3i), my canon macro lens, a couple of camera bags (there’s a fetish!), and a bunch of lens filters that I’ve replaced with better ones over time.
Brit Floyd Concert 2015
For the third straight year, Rachel and I went to see Brit Floyd at DeVos Performance Hall in Grand Rapids. It’s a great venue, and it was, for the third straight year, a fantastic show!
School Carnival 2015
Each year, Black River puts on a carnival for the elementary kids, so we get to spend a few hours wandering the crowded halls winning candy and small prizes.

What a Difference A Week Can Make
A Tale of Two Sundays
Last Sunday, I had a great hike at Saugatuck Dunes State Park, hiking the outer loop of South Trail, which gets close to the southernmost part of the park. About three feet of snow remained, but the trails were nicely packed – thanks cross country skiers! When I got to the lake, however, the snow was crunchy and punchy, which meant about a mile of ankle-twisting along the beach.

Leah and Aly have been taking gymnastics through Champion Gymnastics for a few months now, and I’ve had the pleasure of taking them a couple times. After TEDxMacatawa wrapped up today, I got to take them again, and I brought my camera this time.
