#Snowmageddon2016: After working from home on Friday, then staying inside binge-watching Jessica Jones all day Saturday while the Upstate de-iced, I was itching to get out of the house and spend some time outdoors. It didn’t go so well.
Leah’s 5th Birthday Party
Because birthdays are a big deal, this is the second post about Leah’s birthday this year. Here’s the first.
Leah chose Puppies as the theme for her party, which worked out well, since we still had some leftover supplies from the maybe-a-bit-too-much Puppy Party that we threw Aly when she turned six.

So Leah is now five. sigh.
I recently spent a long weekend in Michigan (not as long as scheduled, Thanks Delta) to celebrate the fifth anniversary of Leah’s arrival. It’s amazing how far she’s come from being born under crazy circumstances at 36 weeks – she was around 5.5 pounds when we took her home from the hospital a week later. We reviewed pictures from that wild time, but we also had the typical myriad birthday festivities.

Plus, it gives me another excuse to practice taking pictures and experimenting with lighting. Here’s my fourth shelf:
