As has become tradition, Leah trick or treats for half the time, then we come home to hand out candy. We also got a quick trunk or treat in first, with a horse ride and s’mores!
This is a newer tradition, but it’s a great one. The Outdoor Discover Center is a fantastic asset just south of Holland, and they host a Halloween event every year. It was a blast!
As is also tradition, we spent the Friday evening before Halloween at Van Raalte Farm’s annual Halloween event.
As with every year, we made an early October visit to Post Family Farm for pumpkins, donuts, games, and… kittens?

Leah’s team improved a ton during the season, and the girls had a lot of fun as well. Here’s the proof:
I was in Colorado in late September, and had the chance to spend a weekend in the mountains, going from Colorado Springs > Twin Lakes > Aspen and back. Twin Lakes looks like it might be a great location for night shooting, so I plan to check that out in the future. The fall colors were quite strong already at the higher elevations, with the signature yellow of the aspen trees. It was a great couple days!
I got to attend some of Aly’s 7th grade volleyball matches this year, which was quite a bit of fun. She really started to enjoy it by the end of the season, which makes her volleyball-loving parents happy. Here are some pictures I captured.
