We were lucky to have Maggie G come stay with us for a few days in Holland. The three girls had lots of fun – as we did we two adults.

We descended upon the small town of Hartville, OH for Dan and Kate’s wedding in mid-June – my cousin Rick is Kate’s dad.
My brother Doug died last. He was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer late in 2017.
Please excuse the language, but #fuckcancer. Do what you can to help fight cancer. Raise funds, donate, or make sure you get the appropriate checkups at the appropriate times.
I didn’t do much shooting on Friday, except for about 30 minutes along Laurel River Road and Tremont Road with the new 80mm macro lens that Fuji kind enough to lend me.
Thursday was a whirlwind day with lots of activity at the summit. As I was left my room to join an early morning field session, I looked up and saw stars, so I instead jumped in my car and headed up to foothills parkway to shoot some star-to-sunrise timelapse.
Wednesday – the first full day of the conference. After breakfast, I headed into Cades Cove with a large group of attendees, and Chas Glatzer as our instructor. If you’re wondering what it’s like to go on a field outing that’s part of a photography workshop, this post will give you some idea.
