Every now and then Aly shows an interest in taking pictures, so I took her with me in March on my first visit to the Upper Macatawa Natural Area in Zeeland. This park has two entrances and several miles of trail that wind throw lowlying swamps, wooded areas, and farm fields. It was a pretty place that I’m sure will be spectacular in the summer once the plants color up, and we had a nice walk despite the bitter wind pecking at our faces. Aly discovered some clingy thorny things and was thoroughly amused by sticking them to her scarf and gloves. I spent about ten minutes pulling all the barbs out.
