I woke up this morning to thunderstorms and rain, so I checked the weather and saw this on the radar:
Plan B
So I made the decision to tour by car, at least for the morning. I decided to head to Cades Cove, which is said to be one of the best drives in the park. I discovered shortly that getting there was almost as spectacular. The first half of the drive is on Little River Road, and there are turnouts everywhere; high ones with views and lower ones along the river. The second half is along Laurel Road, and it is just as loaded with beautiful spots. It drizzled on and off as I stopped off at various points along the way, some for as long as 45 minutes. There are even waterfalls hidden along the road if you watch carefully. All of these pictures were taken along the drive to Cades Cove.
